How We Work
HOW BERD PLANS TO UNDERTAKE THE DEVELOPMENT
The organization has the plan to create a network of community organization development groups based on the small raqbas are followed by the formation of groups clusters which may comprise on 5 to 10 development groups/organized communities under the title of village development organization. These groups will be trained to make an integrated approach for development. The cluster will formulate a village development plan based on the existing data and future requirements both technical and financial The organization‘s work plan will include creating linkages with the partners organizations, Government departments (including line agencies) donors. Their proposals will be submitted to the organizations, donors and related public and private including international organization for possible financial support. The projects or the development interventions will be jointly monitored by BASIC EDUCATION REFORMS & DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (BERD), donors and the community development groups. The communities will be provided training to undertake the development activities with their active participation at all levels. Aim is to create an environment conducive to development and transformation of the society into a developed and economically sound society.

Programme Strategy
The programme strategy is to demonstrate effective community participation techniques for development by focusing on social mobilization and guidance. The empowerment of target population groups including women through skill development training and motivation of people to initiate development activities at grass root level

Approach
To achieve the above objectives, the NGO approach is based on proved and tested models of participatory philosophy of development, through effective partnership between all the development actors in an organized manner. To fill up the vacuum at community level (being the major development actor in the process) the NGO assists & mobilizes communities to get themselves organized at grassroots level into self managed, self reliant and sustainable organization capable of undertaking all the development initiatives through managing Natural, Human and Financial resources in a holistic manner. To usher this level of participation, various outreach mechanisms, including village men and women organizations, hujras, forest owners and non-owners associations and CCBs and CBOs etc are used by establishing partnership. It supports local communities’ initiatives in poverty reduction, effective social service delivery & giving voice to the ignored & marginalized segments of the population through their participation in decision making and needs identification to implementation of any venture/activity.

Our Development Approach
Following approach is adopted to initiate development activities
with active participation of the target population at grass-root
level.
- Â Area profile with required information on economic status is
collected to prepare a strong base for development. The
particular areas/raqbas is visited along with the activist and
initial dialogue is arranged with the community in order to
form the community organization/development group. - Important skill and awareness is given to organized group with regard to identification of
community needs, locating the internal and external resources to address these needs
and management of these resources to produce the results of improvements. - Prepare a work plan to initiate development with implementation strategy and
completion of the development activity. It is a part of programme to enhance the assessment of impact of the development intervention.
