BERD | Who We Are

Basic Education Reform & Development Foundation (BERD) is a non government, non-political, and non-profitable Organization. It was established and registered with the objective to develop and improve education system, provide support for socio-economic change based on community participation at grass root level in Pakistan. The overall economic development is being carried out by NGOs and Government functionaries as there are these areas which have not been touched by the NGOs or development organizations of any kind based on community participation.

Contribute to poverty reduction by supporting local communities in harnessing their potential and capabilities by organizing themselves into self -reliant & capable of undertaking development agenda.

Vision

Establishment of a prosperous society, based on the principles of social justice, equity and equality.

What We Do

To achieve the above objectives, the NGO approach is based on proved and tested models of participatory philosophy of development, through effective partnership between all the development actors in an organized manner.

Gender

We give high priority for formal and informal training to local women in general management techniques, various vocational areas, and income generating activities and projects.

Combating with Child labor

There is a need to offer school, skill enhancement training programmes for them those who could not receive education at early stage.

Social Mobilization

Provide the social guidance to the communities in order to prepare them to initiate the development themselves at grass root level.

Disaster Management

Our programme for Recovery; Relief and Rehabilitation is in place in the disaster hit areas with the cooperation of national and international donors.

Education

Communities are encouraged to establish institutions at elementary and higher level on public private partnership.

Skill Enhancement Training program

Our programme is to establish the training institutions to impart skills in the disciplines which are related to human development and strengthening their capacities.

Basic Health Program

The organization plans to support the communities to development basic health programme in the communities.

Natural Resource Management

Cater for more productive and integrated efforts for sustainability and better management of natural resources in order to preserve the natural beauty and ensure environmental pollution free zone.

Micro Enterprise Development Program

To provide eligible people investment support to enhance their earnings/incomes and engage themselves in self-employment programmes in the area.

Productive Rural Infrastructure Program

To evolve a participatory approach for the organized population at grass root level.
